The destination really is going to make it for you, and as we said, we know that everyone has a different idea of the destination that they would consider magical. To most of you, it is going to be that tropical destination that you’ll probably only get the chance to go and see once. For others, it’s the mountainous, picturesque escape that will leave you with breathtaking views every morning. Anyone else in between probably views a luxurious city break as the trip of a lifetime. So, we’re going to give you a quick overview from a location that fits the description of each one, and you can then figure out which one it is that you would like to go to!
Ahh, the tropical location. Bali definitely wins here, and is up there with one of the most luxurious cultural experiences that you can have. The climate is always hot, there’s so much to do there that you could do two excursions each day for two weeks, and still be left with things that you didn’t do. Plus, it is one of the most tropical places that you can go in terms of the beautiful green forests, the rice fields, and the amazing temples that will leave you in awe. If you want to know something great about this, you don’t actually have to spend that much to get yourself there. Most of the hotels are extremely lovely, will give you that tropical vibe inside and out, and will allow you to have a central location to explore. The main places that people tend to stay are either Kuta, or just outside of Kuta if you don’t want to hustle and bustle, or Ubud. Both are beautiful in their own right, but it’s noted that Ubud is more relaxed, and based around tranquility and beauty, whereas Kuta has become a huge tourist hotspot, so you will find it’s a lot busier. It’s extremely cheap to be over there as well, and if you go when it’s their dry season, you will have the hottest weather to contend with. We will warn you, it is extremely warm there, and humid, so you will find that you’re sticky!
The home of cheese! Well, not exactly, but there aren’t many of you who can deny that swiss cheese isn’t yummy with a salad or on a sandwich! Switzerland truly is one of the most wonderful places that you can visit, because of its outstanding natural beauty. Everywhere you look, there is something different to look at, a mountain that’s blowing your mind, or a delicious restaurant to fill your belly! Again, it really isn’t that expensive to travel there, but it is expensive once you’re there. However, if beautiful mountainous terrain is your idea of the trip of a lifetime, then this is the place to go. One thing you will notice, is that all of the people are so super friendly out there. Nothing will be too much for them, and you can always rely on friendly service no matter where you go. The climate can be a bit hit and miss depending on what time of year that you go, so don’t expect miracles on the weather front!
Rome is arguably a trip of a lifetime, but if you’re going to do a city break, we would recommend that you go to two destinations. Rome on its own is a lovely break, and you will fill every single day that you’re there walking around, and taking in some of the beautiful architecture. But, there’s only so long you can spend there, and if you coupled it with a trip to Venice for example, you really would be in for a treat! Rome again, is expensive whilst you’re there, and depending on the time of year that you go, it will be expensive to travel there as well. But, the place is full of so much culture, amazing food, and just great city break experiences!
So, the first thing you probably thought when titled this the trip of a lifetime, would be that the trip of a lifetime would cost you an arm and a limb to afford. Well, you’re wrong! The trip of a lifetime doesn’t have to be expensive, and just because you’re going to a far flung destination, it doesn’t mean you’re going to pay through the nose for it. Like we said with Bali, it really isn’t that expensive, and a lot of islands and countries within Asia are the exact same. So, you could have that tropical destination that you desire to bad, and pay the same amount as you would if you went for a European holiday. Save as you would for a normal holiday, but make sure you saving that little bit extra for spending money. What makes it a trip of a lifetime is the destination, along with the things that you’ll be able to do whilst you’re there. And if you don’t take the money, you’re not exactly going to be able to fill it with experiences that will make it incredible. Always do your research about how expensive the place you are heading to is in terms of food, drinks, and excursions!
Who To Spend It With
This is actually going to be a really big factor in your trip of a lifetime success. If you’re not traveling with the right person, you could completely miss out on the opportunity to make the most of the holiday. Most of you will automatically jump to your partner when thinking of this, but think whether your friend would be more suited. If you take your best friend, it will not only solidify your friendship, but you can have a laugh and a joke with them like you can nobody else, and the memories you’ll make together will be invaluable.
What Will Make It A Trip Of A Lifetime?
The short answer is, diving into the culture of the country you’re heading to. As we’ve said, it’s all about the destination, and the excursions that come with it. If you’re heading to Bali for example, there will be multiple opportunities to go snorkeling in crystal blue waters, with marine wildlife that you just won’t have seen before. Want to make it really cool, get yourself a Ninja Shark that you can go underwater with. You can even attach a GoPro to the top of it to get all of the best shots. It’s the little additions that you can put with excursions that will make it 10x better. Snorkeling can be done in most tropical areas, and should definitely be on your hit-list. Do your research, find out what can be done in the area that you’re going to, and make it happen!
All you need to do is prepare as you would usually prepare for a holiday. Make sure that you have absolutely everything you need in terms of clothing, essentials, money, in date passport, transfers… the list could go on. Which is why we think you should write yourself a big checklist to make sure that you have everything. If you are going to a tropical destination such as Bali, we would highly recommend that you take some really good bug spray, and mosquitos will be everywhere, and the Zika virus is spread through their bites. You should also make sure you’ve got some really good travel insurance. A lot can go wrong on holidays like these, especially if you’re always out doing excursions. So make sure you’re getting the best one, but cheap the deal as cheap as possible.
